Membership Levels

A Note Regarding Pneuma:

All levels of membership receive four issues of Pneuma (our scholarly journal), our monthly e-newsletter, and a copy of the annual conference program. Membership runs from January 1 to December 31, regardless of the time of application.

Those who apply for membership prior to and through September will receive that year's issues of Pneuma. Applications received after September will apply to the following year. All levels of membership are eligible to present papers at the annual conference.

As of January 1, 2016, the following membership dues are in effect:

Full Member: $87 Annually

Requirements:

Hold an earned graduate degree from a recognized institution of higher education, currently be engaged in Christian education (administrative or instructional), or have made significant literary contributions to Pentecostal literature and journalism. Applicants without an earned graduate degree should submit a statement of qualifications for consideration by the membership committee. Must subscribe to the Society's Statement of Purpose, which follows:

To support fully, to the extent appropriate for an academic society, the following statement of purposes:

  • To encourage fellowship and facilitate co-ordination of effort among Pentecostal believers throughout the world,
  • To demonstrate to the world the essential unity of Spirit-baptized believers, fulfilling the prayer of the Lord Jesus Christ,
  • To cooperate in an endeavor to respond to the unchanging commission of the Lord Jesus, to carry His message to all people of all nations.
  • To promote courtesy and mutual understanding, “endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, until we all come in the unity of the faith”
  • To afford prayerful/practical assistance to any Pentecostal body in need of such.
  • To promote and maintain the scriptural purity of the Society by Bible study and prayer.
  • To uphold and maintain those Pentecostal truths, “most surely believed among us.”
  • Associate Member: $87 Annually

    Requirements:

    Hold an earned graduate degree from a recognized institution of higher education, currently engaged in Christian education (administrative or instructional), or have made significant literary contributions to Pentecostal literature and journalism. Applicant without an earned graduate degree should submit a statement of qualifications for consideration by the membership committee. Cannot hold elected office.

    Student Member: $47 Annually

    Requirements:

    Must be enrolled in an institution of higher learning. Cannot hold elected office.

    Retired Member: $57 Annually

    Requirements:

    Must be retired from full-time employment. May be retired at Full or Associate level based upon meeting the above listed requirements.
